Job summary

NewYork-Presbyterian is seeking a postpartum nursing attendant for a full-time evening shift at Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital. The role supports patients and families, partners with nurses and ICU staff, and helps with meals, transport, and comfort in a fast-paced hospital environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Current CPR Training from the American Heart Association is required.
• Must meet one of the following:
• Previous Nurse’s Aide experience in a hospital setting
• Certification from an approved accredited Nurse Aid training program
• Current enrollment in a BSN program - at the junior year level and/or completion of at least one clinical practicum

Responsibilities

• Together, we serve as critical points of contact for patients and their families.
• Be a true partner with Nurses, ICU Technicians and more.
• Monitor blood pressure and temperature of patients, while ensuring the delivery of meals and safe transport.

• Provide comfort and caring as an NYP nursing attendant-keeping our fast-paced environments running smoothly.
• Provide compassionate patient focus and perform select care duties under the supervision of a registered nurse.
• Improve the patient experience and maintain a safe, clean and healthy environment.
• Measure and record temperatures, pulses, respiration and blood pressure.
• Demonstrate what it means to be part of a team and raise the bar for patient care.

Education

High school diploma or GED

CPR Training from American Heart Association

Nurse’s Aide experience in a hospital setting

Nurse Aide training program certification
