Job summary

DFA is seeking a PLC Technician for our St. George, UT facility to install, monitor, and repair PLC devices and related systems. The role supports HMIs, instrumentation, and other electronics to keep equipment running at the required capacity and quality.

A strong focus on safety, documentation, and cross-team collaboration is expected. Qualified candidates will have hands-on PLC experience, mechanical/electrical skills, and a willingness to work with CMMS and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent.
Trade/technical school in industrial automation, electricity-electronics, PLC, etc.
4–6 years of industrial maintenance electrical, PLC, or related experience, preferably in manufacturing.
Certification/license – state electrician license and other certifications may be required.

Responsibilities

Troubleshoot, repair, and adjust PLCs, HMIs, and field devices.
Troubleshoot power and motor control systems and frequency drives.
Locate, diagnose, and repair problems causing downtime or poor performance.
Perform preventive/predictive maintenance to target zero downtime.
Monitor PLC devices and systems for correct functionality.
Test connections between PLC devices and other equipment.
Conduct regular safety inspections and CMMS data management.
Maintain and repair plant equipment and assist with new equipment installations.
Provide technical support for users and fellow technicians; mentor others.
Document and maintain procedural documents and communicate with teams.
