Job summary

Norsk Hydro in North America is seeking an Electrical/PLC Technician to support installation, maintenance and basic troubleshooting of PLCs and automation equipment. You will work with ladder logic basics, wiring, diagnostics under supervision, and document work logs.

Qualifications

0-5 years of experience troubleshooting and supporting PLC-controlled equipment.
Basic understanding of ladder logic troubleshooting and fault isolation techniques.
Knowledge of industrial sensors, transmitters, and control devices.
Familiarity with digital and analog I/O configuration and verification.
Basic knowledge of industrial communication networks and PLC-to-device communications

Responsibilities

Assist in the installation, maintenance, and basic troubleshooting of programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and related automation equipment.
Basic wiring, PLC, and HMI setup.
Assist in wiring and installation of PLC hardware.
Perform basic diagnostics and troubleshooting under supervision.
Read and interpret electrical schematics and PLC I/O diagrams.
Support senior technicians in system testing and commissioning.
Maintain documentation and logs of work performed.
Configure, scale, and troubleshoot analog signals and instrumentation.
Perform basic PLC program uploads, downloads, and online monitoring.
Use multimeters and basic electrical testing equipment.
