Job summary

AdventHealth in Littleton, CO is seeking a Phlebotomy Technician to perform venous, capillary, and other specimen collections, ensuring quality, proper identification, and timely processing for hospital and outreach patients. Responsibilities include handling specimens, preparing samples for testing, and participating in training and shift communications.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, completion of a phlebotomy program, and preferred CPT certifications with BLS.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Phlebotomy program completion is preferred.
• NHA/NPCE/APST CPT certification preferred; BLS preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs venous, capillary, urine drug screen, swab collection, or other specimen collection.
• Ensures quality collection of specimens including container, volume, priority, and identification.
• Receives specimens, assesses priority, and processes hospital-registered and outreach patients.
• Centrifuges, aliquots, and distributes samples to testing areas and loads analyzers.
• Prepares samples for off-site testing and completes related paperwork.
