Job summary

Sonora Quest Laboratories/Laboratory Sciences of Arizona (SQL/LSA) seeks a part-time Phlebotomist for the Banner Sterling Regional Medical Center in Sterling, Colorado. The role involves evening shifts, specimen collection, and processing, with potential coverage at multiple locations within the network.

You will collect blood specimens, enter patient data into the system, ensure specimen integrity, and support billing and quality objectives while complying with HIPAA and company policies.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of a phlebotomy program or phlebotomy experience.
• Phlebotomy certification as defined by state regulations.
• DHS Fingerprinting Certification or ability to obtain.
• Possess a valid state driver’s license and be eligible for company auto insurance.
• Flexibility to travel to multiple locations and work evenings/weekends.
• May be required to work occasional on-call duties.

Responsibilities

• Collect and process blood specimens and ensure proper patient and specimen identification.
• Enter demographics, tests requested, and other data into the laboratory information system; verify accuracy.
• Prepare samples for analysis and transport to the appropriate area; assist in initial processing.
• Maintain quality and productivity by following procedures and documenting communications.
• Support departmental financial responsibilities and minimize waste; assist with billing basics.

Education

High School diploma or equivalent

Phlebotomy program or phlebotomy experience

Phlebotomy certification

DHS Fingerprinting Certification or ability to obtain

Valid state driver’s license
