Job summary

SSM Health St. Mary's Hospital – Madison is seeking a Phlebotomist to collect and prepare blood specimens for laboratory testing.

The role is 32 hours per week on the evening shift, with weekend on-call rotation, and requires careful patient identification and adherence to safety protocols. The successful candidate will deliver samples to the lab, may perform waived testing, and support the department with routine administrative tasks.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED, or 10 years of work experience.
• BLS HCP certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collects blood specimens by venipuncture and capillary technique per guidelines.
• Delivers samples to the laboratory within established time frames.
• May perform waived testing.
• May perform administrative duties to support the department.
• Identifies patients using two identifiers.
• Maintains a safe and alert work environment.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
