Responsibilities

• Performs venipuncture and capillary blood collection per policies to ensure accurate specimen collection.
• Ensures positive patient identification and proper labeling at the bedside.
• Prepares, transports, and maintains specimen integrity and safety.
• Explains procedures to patients and provides reassurance.
• Cleans and maintains phlebotomy equipment and workspace in compliance with safety standards.
• Documents patient and specimen information in the lab system per regulatory requirements.
• Collects timed specimens as ordered and prioritizes tasks to meet clinical needs.
• Collaborates with healthcare team to resolve orders and communicate status.
• Adheres to all safety and accreditation standards.
• Maintains regular attendance and complies with policies.
