Job summary

HonorHealth’s Deer Valley location in Phoenix seeks a Phlebotomist for in-person, evening shifts. You will draw blood, perform related clerical tasks, and support the LAB Phlebotomy team in a fast-paced hospital setting.

The ideal candidate has a High School Diploma or GED and at least 6 months' experience in phlebotomy or a network float pool, with strong customer service and data-entry skills. Training and weekends/holidays rotation apply.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Experience in phlebotomy is preferred.
• Experience with hospital information systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Organizes, prioritizes, and obtains blood draw requests from trauma, STATs, ASAP and routine orders.
• Operates the hospital tube system to receive specimens and distribute to the appropriate area.
• Receives outpatient laboratory specimens and verifies correct patient identification and specimen type.
• Uses the Hospital Information System to order, cancel, add lab test requests and retrieve patient data.
• Greets visitors and patients at the reception window and assists with inquiries.
• Maintains equipment, supplies and drawing stations; oversees mail and communication tasks.
• Oversees training of new employees and coordinates daily work with the supervisor.
