Job summary

Harrison County Hospital is seeking a Phlebotomist to join our team in Indiana. The full-time position is evenings with rotating days, from 12:00 PM to 8:30 PM.

Responsibilities include phlebotomy, specimen processing, EKGs for outpatients, and handling test orders and results with accuracy. The ideal candidate is a high school graduate with on-the-job training in a clinical laboratory; one year of experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school graduate with on-the-job training in a clinical laboratory.
• One year experience preferred.
• Experience with phlebotomy and capillary puncture across age groups.

Responsibilities

• Perform phlebotomy and capillary puncture procedures for neonates to geriatric patients.
• Process and document test requisitions; charge, register and order tests for outpatients.
• Distribute and file test results and physician orders; notify patients, physicians and nurses as required.
• Maintain organized collection areas and workspaces; manage urgent testing and STAT notices.
• Perform EKGs for outpatients; answer lab calls and route as needed.
