Job summary

Montefiore Medical Center in Bronx, NY seeks a Pharmacy Specialist. Under supervision of a pharmacist, assists in packaging, manufacturing, distribution of drugs and supplies; supports ambulatory and inpatient drug distribution, sterile product prep, inventory control, and related duties.

Requires High School diploma, Pharmacy Technician training or equivalent, NYS license, PTCB certification, and the ability to pass a technician test; strong communication and PC skills are essential; shifts

Qualifications

High school graduate or equivalent.
Completion of a Pharmacy Technician Training Program or equivalent on the job training.
Valid NYS Pharmacy Technician license is required.
Valid PTCB certification is required.
Must pass a Pharmacy Technician test.
Knowledge of pharmaceuticals and inventory control practice and procedures.
Excellent communications, customer service and business interpersonal skills.
PC, Windows and other business or pharmacy computer system literacy.

Responsibilities

Assist in packaging, manufacturing and distribution of drugs and supplies.
Perform non-judgmental functions in ambulatory and inpatient drug distribution, sterile product preparation, manufacturing and packaging.
Provide ambulatory services as required.
Procure inventory and manage inventory control.
Utilize automated and computerized technology as required.
