Job summary

CoxHealth is seeking a perioperative nurse to provide comprehensive surgical patient care before, during, and after procedures at CoxHealth South in Springfield, Missouri. You will support patient education, ensure a sterile environment, and coordinate care with surgeons, anesthesia, and other departments for diverse age groups from neonates to seniors.

Required: Missouri RN license and BLS within 90 days; preferred: BSN. Evening shift with 40 weekly hours.

Qualifications

• Must be a graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing.
• Great communication, leadership, time management and critical thinking are essential.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-tasking surgical environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide surgical patient care before, during, and after surgery.
• Maintain sterile and safe surgical environment.
• Educate patients pre- and post-operatively and coordinate care across teams.
• Promote teamwork with surgery personnel, surgeons, anesthesia and other departments.
• Care for patients from neonate to elderly as needed.
