Job summary

Bermuda Village is seeking a compassionate Personal Care Assistant (PCA) to join our Homecare team on a PRN basis. You will provide essential personal care and daily living assistance to residents, promoting dignity, safety, and well-being.

The ideal candidate will have experience in personal care or similar healthcare settings, strong communication skills, and a genuine desire to support older adults. The role is hourly, with a 3:00 PM–11:00 PM shift, located in Homecare.

• Must communicate effectively and work independently as well as with a team.
• Must respect resident rights, confidentiality, and individual needs.
• Must be able to perform essential job duties with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Must obtain or maintain applicable CPR certification for CPR-related duties.
• Previous experience in personal care, homecare, senior living, or related healthcare setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, oral care, toileting, incontinence care, positioning, transfers, and mobility.
• Encourage residents to maintain independence and participate in daily activities to the best of their abilities.
• Provide companionship and compassionate support while respecting residents' privacy and dignity.
• Assist with meals, including eating assistance and carrying food, trays, and beverages as needed.
• Monitor changes in condition and promptly report concerns to the supervisor.
• Complete required care documentation, records, and incident reports accurately and professionally.
• Respond promptly to resident call signals and follow emergency, fire safety, evacuation, and disaster procedures.
• Follow infection prevention, safety, and resident care policies and maintain clean, safe areas.
• Assist with laundry, linen distribution, and proper care of equipment as permitted by regulations.
• Communicate professionally with residents, families, coworkers, and visitors.
