Job summary

Stony Brook Medicine is seeking a Hospital Attendant- Patient Transporter for the Evening shift (3:00 PM – 11:30 PM) at its hospital facilities. The role focuses on moving patients and supplies safely and efficiently across the campus, supporting the care teams with timely transport and equipment handling.

The ideal candidate will be able to perform medium to heavy physical labor, with a preference for those holding a High School Diploma and prior hospital experience.

Responsibilities

• Transport patients, equipment, specimens and materials throughout the hospital in a timely and courteous manner.
• Locate equipment during retrieval runs to replenish inventory.
• Transport deceased patients to the morgue.
• Wash equipment in the Transport Services area.
• Assist dispatch by answering phones and logging/calling transports.
• Complete daily scheduled runs for delivery of reports, supplies and Medical Records.
• Ensure services are performed efficiently and address issues promptly.
