Job summary

Mount Carmel is seeking a dedicated Patient Transporter to move patients, specimens, and equipment throughout the facility. Shift: Evening, 11:30 am–8:00 pm EST, with weekend/holiday rotation.

Responsibilities include transporting patients by wheelchair or bed, assisting with transfers, delivering supplies, greeting visitors, and supporting clinical staff as needed. CPR certification required by orientation, HS diploma or equivalent preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• CPR HeartSaver certification required by end of orientation.
• Prior healthcare experience preferred.
• Strong communication skills mandatory.
• Ability to lift and transport patients.
• Ability to stand and walk for long periods, and push/pull equipment.

Responsibilities

• Transports patients via wheelchair, stretcher or bed to designated sites.
• Assists patients with entering and exiting vehicles and transfers.
• Delivers equipment and specimens to staff and departments; assists with removing deceased patients to morgue.
• Greets and guides patients and visitors with information and directions.
