Job summary

Corewell Health is seeking a patient transporter to move patients to and from examinations and treatments at Grosse Pointe Hospital. You will assist with patient transfers, prepare patients for transport, and coordinate with medical staff to ensure proper transport of supplies and medications.

The role requires safe lifting techniques, adherence to HIPAA, and strong communication with patients and colleagues.

Qualifications

Three months of on-the-job training completed.
High school diploma or equivalent required.
BLS (American Heart Association or American Red Cross) within 90 days of hire.
Demonstrates safe lifting and transport techniques.
Follows Universal Precautions and HIPAA confidentiality requirements.
Strong communication, courtesy, empathy and professionalism with patients and staff.

Responsibilities

Transport patients to and from examinations and treatments using wheelchairs, gurneys or moveable beds.
Prepare patients for transport and verify patient identification.
Transport patients and equipment between testing areas, including ICU, inpatient and outpatient departments.
Coordinate with medical staff to ensure necessary supplies and medications are transported with patients.
Assist in patient toileting under RN supervision as needed.
Clean and disinfect equipment and maintain clean work areas.
