Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking a Transport Aide to support multiple units within the Needham campus. The position features 10-hour shifts from 1:00 PM to 11:30 PM with every other weekend rotation.

You will transport patients, assist into wheelchairs or stretchers, respond to pages promptly, maintain safety and body mechanics, and report observations to the nurse to help ensure high-quality patient care and smooth unit operations.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and write English.
• Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
• Willingness to work as a team member.
• Ability to work cooperatively and effectively with others.

Responsibilities

• Transport patients to different departments as instructed.
• Respond to pages in a timely manner.
• Assist patients into wheelchairs or stretchers with proper body mechanics.
• Demonstrate sound judgment for patients' condition and apply safety measures as necessary.
• Report to the nurse any observations, patient complaints and other pertinent information.
