Job summary

HCA Healthcare Trident Hospital in Charleston, SC, is seeking a Patient Transport Coordinator to oversee daily workflow and ensure timely transport operations. You will coordinate shift priorities, supervise trainees, and collaborate with nurses and departments to maintain smooth patient movement.

The role requires basic computer skills, a HS diploma or GED, and leadership experience; BLS certification is required within 90 days of start date. Weekend shifts are included with rotating schedules.

Qualifications

• Must have basic computer skills and be able to use standard hospital software.
• Experience leading a small team preferred.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support certification within 90 days of start date.
• High school diploma or GED required.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and oversee shift operations, re-prioritize jobs in PATRA, and troubleshoot system issues.
• Ensure stretchers and wheelchairs are returned to correct locations; oxygen tanks are full and maintained.
• Transport patients between areas using wheelchair, stretcher, or ambulating.
• Perform clerical duties, scheduling, ordering supplies, inventory, cleaning, and other tasks as assigned.
• Supervise students or trainees and onboard new Transporters.
