Job summary

RWJBarnabas Health seeks a Clinical Care Technician (CCT) for the Medical Surgical Unit III at RWJ Somerset in Somerville, NJ. This part-time day shift role supports Registered Nurses with vital signs, mobility, and core patient care.

You will monitor patients, document in the EHR, follow infection control protocols, and participate in the care plan from admission to discharge. A High School Diploma/GED and BLS certification are required; CNA experience or clinical exposure is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma / GED and current American Heart Association BLS certification.
• Previous nursing assistant experience or clinical experience from an accredited nursing program is preferred or a CNA certificate.

Responsibilities

• Assist with vital signs, EKGs, phlebotomy and bedside care (daily living activities).
• Monitor vital signs and track patient health status.
• Document patient information accurately in electronic health records (EHR) while maintaining confidentiality.
• Implement infection control protocols to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare providers to coordinate care plans.
• Provide Basic Life Support (BLS) in emergencies.
• Provide patient care appropriate to the age of the patients and ensure safe outcomes.
• Collaborate on the plan of care from admission to discharge.
• Maintain ongoing communication with nursing colleagues regarding patient status.
