Job summary

Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD is seeking a Regular full-time nurse aide to provide routine patient care in the evening shift (2:00 PM to 10:30 PM) with rotating weekends/holidays. The role offers a potential $750 sign-on bonus and includes benefits.

You will assist with patient care tasks, coordinate with nurses and physicians, and support departmental operations to ensure quality care and patient comfort.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or preferred.
• Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) certification preferred or licensed.

Responsibilities

• Provides safe and direct patient care including ambulating, bathing, positioning and feeding, and attends to other care needs.
• Responds promptly to patient call lights and special needs; handles patient valuables carefully.
• Greets visitors, answers inquiries, assists with messages, and helps with gifts, flowers, mail for patients.
• Ambulates patients, measures intake/output, may collect specimens and transport patients as needed.
• Answers telephone, operates paging system, and supports station during emergencies.
• Prepares requisitions for diagnostic/therapeutic services and coordinates appointments.
• Requisitions supplies and coordinates maintenance and repairs; may request services (chaplain, social services, pastoral care).
• Performs clerical duties related to admissions, discharges, chart preparation, transfers and death.
• Maintains patient rooms in orderly condition and changes bed linens.
