Job summary

Landmark Medical Center in Woonsocket, RI, seeks a part-time Patient Care Assistant for evening shifts (2:45 PM – 11:15 PM), 24 hours per week, under the supervision of a licensed nurse. You will assist with daily patient care, vital signs, and basic procedures while maintaining accurate documentation.

Preferred credentials include phlebotomy, EKG, and BLS; RI CNA license is required. Behavioral Violence Prevention certification may be required within 6 months.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Current Phlebotomy certification upon hire, preferred.
• Current EKG certification upon hire, preferred.
• Current BLS (AHA) certificate within 30 days of hire and maintain current.
• Possesses knowledge of Medical Terminology.
• Minimum six months previous experience in an acute care hospital or physician's office preferred.
• Current CNA license in state of Rhode Island.
• Current Behavioral Violence Prevention (BVP) certificate within 6 months of hire and maintain current per facility requirement.

Responsibilities

• Assist with direct patient care under the direction of the licensed nurse.
• Assist with activities of daily living (bathing, feeding, ambulation).
• Obtain vital signs, EKG, phlebotomy and blood glucose.
• Document and report results to licensed nurse.
• Provide a safe and therapeutic environment.
• Perform clerical functions including initiating, directing and receiving telephone calls, preparing, printing and scanning various patient reports and medical record information to internal and external departments and facilities.
