NYU Langone Hospital—Brooklyn is seeking a Part-Time weekend Patient Services Associate/Finance to join our patient access team. The role includes coordinating registrations, ED unit clerk functions, insurance verification, financial assistance assessment, billing and follow-up activities.

The ideal candidate will triage and review daily work to minimize backlog, maintain HIPAA compliance, and communicate clearly with patients and insurers in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Responsibilities

• Complies with HIPAA, OSHA, JCAHO, NYU policies and procedures.
• Admitting Office: performs registrations/admissions accurately, including insurance, demographic and billing information, and escorts patient to unit when necessary.
• Screens patients to determine Medicaid eligibility and refers accounts to Medicaid Area; verifies insurance recipient/policy number and effective dates.
