Job summary

Kansas Health System is seeking a Lead Patient Registration Representative for the Olathe Hospital campus. The role supports management, ensures accurate registration processes, precertification, and patient satisfaction in the evening shift from 5:00pm to 1:30am.

Responsibilities include coordinating with health plans, educating staff, handling denials and appeals when needed, and ensuring timely precertification and documentation for inpatients and select outpatients.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate.
• 1+ year of referral experience.
• Preferred: 2+ years of patient access experience.

Responsibilities

• Communicates with multi-disciplines to ensure eligibility, benefits and authorization information for patient payments.
• Acts as liaison between Olathe Hospital and health plans to ensure pre-certification and authorization requirements are met.
• Responds to patient/customer concerns and educates staff on process changes.
• Supports departmental goals and helps prevent denial of reimbursement by timely investigations and appeals when needed.
• Obtains benefit verification and precertification for inpatients and applicable outpatients, documenting accurately.
