Florham Park School District is seeking two Evening Custodian positions for the 2026-27 school year. These part-time roles (Position A 2 hours/week; Position B 3 hours/week) report to the School Principal and the Supervisor of Buildings and Grounds.

Under the direction of the Supervisor of Buildings and Grounds / Principal; the custodian / janitorial personnel preforms varied and simple routine tasks involved in the cleaning and maintenance of buildings and grounds; does related work as required and/or requested by the Supervisor of Buildings and Grounds / Principal
Makes a daily inspection of the building and grounds, secures building, analyzes and determines the cleaning work to be done and the materials needed. Either works alone or as one of a group and performs the following daily duties.
A. Considerable knowledge of the problems, procedures, and operations involved in the cleaning and maintenance of a school building, as well as the operation and maintenance of HVAC equipment.
B. Possession of a Black Seal Boiler License issued by the New Jersey Department of Labor and Industry (Full-Time Custodians are expected to qualify for a Black Seal License) within one (1) year of employment.)
C. Required criminal history background check and proof of United States citizenship or legal resident alien status.
D. Possession of a valid New Jersey Drivers License
A. To read, write, speak, and understand English sufficiently to perform the duties of the position
B. To understand, remember and carry-out oral and written directions, and to learn quickly from oral and written directions and form demonstrations.
C. To associate with children, and to get-along and work together with school staff.
D. To analyze building, HVAC and grounds maintenance problems.
E. Good health and freedom from disabling physical and mental defects which would impair the proper performance of the required duties or which might endanger the health and safety of oneself and others.
C. All shifts are subject to change at the discretion of the Supervisor of Buildings and Grounds
Salary/Evaluation: Salary in accordance with the FPEA negotiated agreement Evaluation by School Principal and Supervisor of Buildings and Grounds or School Business Administrator.
