Calise Bakery in Lincoln, RI is seeking a Shift Supervisor Packaging for the 2nd shift to oversee packaging operations in a fast-paced food manufacturing setting.

You will lead a team of packaging operators, ensure safety and quality, monitor schedules, and drive continuous improvement initiatives to minimize downtime and maximize output.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a food manufacturing or packaging environment, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
  • Strong understanding of packaging bagger machinery and production processes.
  • Ability to manage 3 lines of 24 employees with multiple change-overs and metal detectors.
  • Monitor sorter set-up and quality inspections
  • Monitor logs and documentation to ensure accurate information is being entered.
  • Knowledge of workplace safety standards and quality control procedures.
  • Ability to work weekends, and holidays as required.
  • Regular schedule is 4:00pm - 1:00am with Sundays and Tuesdays off.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate daily packaging operations during assigned shifts to meet production targets and quality standards.
  • Lead, train, and motivate packaging team members to maintain high performance and adherence to safety protocols.
  • Monitor equipment functionality and collaborate with maintenance teams to address any mechanical issues promptly.
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies, safety regulations, and quality assurance procedures.
  • Maintain accurate production records, prepare shift reports, and communicate effectively with management and other departments.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and participate in implementing best practices to enhance efficiency.
  • Manage inventory levels of packaging materials and coordinate with procurement to avoid production delays.
  • Attend Employee and Safety meeting and conduct employee pre-shift huddles.
  • Other duties as assigned.

•Ability to work in a noisy environment while being exposed to wheat flour and gluten.
