Job summary
The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, TX is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for the Melanoma/Sarcoma unit. The role provides direct patient care across oncology patients, with a focus on complex regimens and multidisciplinary collaboration.
Shift is 7pm-7am with weekend coverage; requires graduation from an accredited nursing program and Texas RN license with 1 year of oncology/Med-Surg experience.
Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited school of professional nursing.
- RN license in Texas and active status.
- Minimum 12 months of oncology and/or Medical-Surgical inpatient RN experience.
- Possession of Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Manages patient outcomes by coordinating direct patient care.
- Collaborates with physicians and families to plan and evaluate care.
- Documents care and administers medications per standards.
- Performs data collection for current studies.
- Ensures discharge planning and patient education continuity.
- Trains and coaches team members to improve care.
- Uses computer systems to input and retrieve patient information.
