Job summary

Norton Healthcare, Inc. is seeking an OB Technician to support the surgical team during intra-operative periods, focusing on vaginal and cesarean deliveries under physician and RN supervision.

Qualifications

• One year as a surgical tech or completion of a surgical tech program or apprenticeship.
• Diploma or one year of surgical tech experience or completion of a Surgical Tech Apprentice Program.

Responsibilities

• Assist during intra-operative period in vaginal and cesarean deliveries under supervision of physicians and RNs.
• Help set up the operating room and transport patients to the OR.
• Pass instruments and supplies to surgeons and assistants; hold retractors and assist with counting sponges, needles, and instruments.
• Apply knowledge of medical terminology, the metric system and aseptic technique in all patient and family interactions.
