Job summary

The Iowa Veterans Home is seeking a Nursing Supervisor to lead the evening shift, oversee nursing staff, and ensure high-quality care for veterans. This role involves rounds, problem-solving, and acting as a resource for all nursing staff in the facility.

Qualified candidates will hold an Iowa RN license (or compact), BSN, and have at least one year of clinical experience in relevant settings; a Master’s degree is preferred for advancement into leadership roles.

Qualifications

• RN licensure in Iowa or through the Nurse Licensure Compact
• BSN required; MSN preferred for leadership roles
• Experience: 1 year minimum in clinical nursing, with leadership responsibilities or in relevant specialty areas

Responsibilities

• Lead evening shift nursing staff and ensure delivery of quality patient care
• Provide rounds and clinical support, and address staffing coverage as house supervisor
• Collaborate with other shifts to ensure consistent leadership coverage Monday–Friday with occasional weekends/holidays
• Support staff development and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
