Job summary

Akron Children’s Hospital is seeking a Nurse Practitioner to provide primary and specialty nursing and medical care across diverse clinical settings, collaborating with physicians under a standard care arrangement and state board guidelines.

The role includes health assessments, test interpretation, and developing patient treatment plans; participates in rounds, discharge planning, and education; onsite with primarily evening shifts (3pm–11pm or 5pm–1am), full-time.

Qualifications

• Master's or Doctoral degree in Nursing preferred.
• Licensed as an RN in Ohio with NP certification.
• Must have current authority to prescribe (or eligible) per Ohio Board of Nursing.
• Credentialing as an active medical staff member is required.
• ACLS or PALS may be required based on practice setting.

Responsibilities

• Provides advanced nursing care to patients with complex acute, critical, and chronic health conditions.
• Collaborates with physicians to deliver care and develop treatment plans.
• Orders, interprets, and evaluates tests and studies to assess clinical problems.
• Performs health assessments, diagnoses, and discharge planning.
• May prescribe and monitor medications per prescriptive authority and policy.
• Helps with staff education and serves as a clinical preceptor.
