Job summary

Northwell Health’s Danbury Hospital is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse for Progressive Care. You will provide professional nursing care to a group of patients per the nursing process in collaboration with the health care team.

The position requires CT RN license, BLS, and at least 6 months of Step-Down/PCU RN experience. Evening to night shift, full-time, with 7:00pm–7:30am schedule.

Strong assessment, planning and patient education skills are essential to ensure safe, high-quality care.

Qualifications

• CT RN License is required.
• BLS certification required.
• Minimum of 6 months of Step-Down/PCU RN experience.
• BSN preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide assessment, plan and deliver nursing care using the nursing process.
• Collaborate with the health care team to achieve patient outcomes.
• Administer medications and monitor for adverse effects.
• Document care and maintain accurate patient records.
• Coordinate interdisciplinary functions and ensure patient safety.
• Educate patients and families on care plans and post-discharge needs.
• Fulfills compliance responsibilities related to the position.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
