Qualifications

• Associates degree in Respiratory Care is required.
• Registration by NBRC or AARC is required or preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification is required.
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) Certification is required.
• ACLS within 3 months of job offer acceptance.

Responsibilities

• Provide quality respiratory care per physician orders using professional judgment.
• Interview and examine patients with cardiopulmonary disorders.
• Consult with physicians to develop patient treatment plans.
• Perform diagnostic tests such as measuring lung capacity.
• Administer treatments including chest physiotherapy and aerosol medications.
• Monitor and record patient progress and respond to changes.
• Educate patients on medications and use of equipment such as ventilators.
• Assist in training new hires and precepting staff.
