Job summary

Carilion Clinic seeks a Registered Respiratory Therapist for the Evening/Night shift (7P-7A) in a flex role at 180 Floyd Ave, Rocky Mount, VA. The position requires an RRT, VA state licensure, BLS within 3 months, and ACLS/NRP/PALS may be needed within a year. Weekend/holiday coverage is required as part of the schedule.

The specialist delivers bedside pulmonary care, collaborates with the care team, and supports patient education and continuous improvement initiatives across care settings.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in respiratory therapy or certification from a CoARC-approved program.
• Licensed Respiratory Care Practitioner by the VA State Board of Medicine and Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by NBRC.
• Must obtain BLS within 3 months of employment; ACLS/NRP/PALS may be required within one year.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care to achieve optimum outcomes across all ages.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop an age-specific care plan.
• Administer and document treatments and medications for all ages.
• Educate patients and families as part of the plan of care.
• Participate in performance improvement activities and ongoing competency validation.
