Job summary

Riverside Health in Newport News, VA is seeking a part-time Nursing Assistant to provide patient care during the night shift. Under RN supervision, you will perform basic tasks such as wound care assistance, EKGs, phlebotomy, and environment maintenance, ensuring safety and comfort.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED, CPR/BLS certification, and CNA or equivalent certification; 1 year healthcare experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; CNA or equivalent certification preferred.
• 1 year healthcare experience in hospital setting preferred.
• CPR/BLS certification required upon hire; EMT/MA certifications also accepted as alternatives.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates understanding of technology systems for patient data collection in EMR.
• Performs plan of care under RN supervision, including vital signs, dressing, EKGs, and basic phlebotomy.
• Maintains accurate clinical and quality documentation per RHS standards and regulatory requirements.
• Ensures availability of resources and maintains a clean, safe patient environment.
• Assists with patient admissions, discharges, or transfers under charge nurse direction.
