Job summary

Riverside Health System in Newport News, VA is seeking a Nursing Assistant for night shifts to support RNs and patient care, including basic wound care, EKGs, and phlebotomy under supervision.

You will document patient data into the EMR, assist with care plans, and maintain a clean, safe environment. Requires high school diploma and CPR/BLS; CNA or EMT-B or CMA credentials are accepted; prior healthcare experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1 year of healthcare experience in hospital setting preferred.
• CPR/BLS certification required on hire.
• CNA, EMT-B, CMA/MA or related credential accepted in lieu of CNA.

Responsibilities

• Enter patient data into EMR accurately and consistently.
• Follow plan of care and perform treatments under RN direction.
• Perform basic procedures such as vital signs, EKGs, blood draws as allowed by competency.
• Maintain a clean, safe patient environment and stock supplies.
• Assist with patient admit/discharge/transfer under supervision.
