Job summary

WellSpan Health in York, PA, seeks a patient care assistant for 7pm–7am shifts on 36 hours/week on the 4 Main telemetry unit serving adults 18+ with various acute conditions. Responsibilities include taking vital signs, assisting activities of daily living, stocking supplies, performing EKGs and point-of-care testing.

Qualifications include a High School Diploma or GED, less than 1 year of experience, and BLS on hire; CNA preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Less than 1 year relevant experience preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required upon hire.
• Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) upon hire preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides general nursing and personal care to patients, including activities of daily living.
• Monitors and documents vital signs; reports changes to the RN.
• Keeps patients safe with hourly rounds and responds to needs.
• Performs EKGs and Point-of-Care testing; maintains related records.
• Prepares and transports patients for tests and procedures.
• Stocking and maintaining unit supplies and equipment.
