Job summary

The University of Iowa Health Care is seeking a part-time House Operations Manager to coordinate patient care functions during evenings, nights, weekends and holidays. The role emphasizes leadership, staffing, and operational efficiency in a university hospital setting.

Ideal candidates have nursing leadership experience, valid Iowa nursing license, and relevant certifications. This is a high-responsibility, operational leadership role within the Behavioral Health unit.

Qualifications

Bachelor's or Master's in Nursing is required.
Current license to practice nursing in Iowa.
Current clinical certifications in BLS and MOAB are required.
3+ years of leadership and management experience.
Demonstrated skill in leadership/management.
Current experience in BHS clinical practice. 3-5 years preferred.

Responsibilities

Evaluates staff productivity and initiates change to maximize optimal utilization of staff.
Manages the talents, strengths and behaviors of each individual in a work group and provides opportunities to contribute to unit goals.
Ensures compliance with orientation and annual competencies, aggressive behavior management, and online CQ.
Collaborates with unit leaders to involve staff in decision-making and service improvement.
Motivates staff to high performance and maintains safe, efficient patient care.
