Job summary

FOX8 is seeking an experienced anchor and reporter to join its news team in High Point, NC. You will anchor the 5pm, 6pm and 10pm newscasts, while also reporting, writing and coordinating content for the streaming app and website.

You will participate in promotions, handle breaking news, and contribute to standout journalism in the market. A strong multi-platform presence and newsroom leadership are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum four years’ experience in news reporting and anchoring.
• Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience.
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written with the ability to ad lib when required.
• Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.

Responsibilities

• Presents news stories and other content for all platforms.
• Ensures that all news content meets company standards for journalistic integrity and production quality.
• Writes and delivers news stories in a clear and concise manner.
• Assists in writing, copy editing, researching and coordinating news programming and other content.
• Acts as a field anchor as assigned.
• Responds to breaking news and other urgent newsrooms situations as required.
• Participates in promotional activities including public appearances.
• Performs special projects and other duties as assigned.
