Job summary

Spire Orthopedic Partners is seeking an Entry Level MRI Technician for Great Neck, NY. This part-time evening position requires an Associates degree, ARRT licensure, and an MRI specialty with orthopedic/neurological experience preferred.

You will prepare and position patients, operate MRI equipment, screen for contraindications, and ensure high-quality imaging with timely PACS submission. Competitive benefits and growth opportunities offered.

Qualifications

• Graduate of approved school of radiology required.
• Valid X-Ray/MRI Technician license and ARRT registered.
• Minimum one year experience as an MRI Tech preferred.
• Orthopedic and/or neurological experience preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and positions patients for MRI of various parts of the body.
• Positioning includes setting up equipment (coils, monitoring devices, etc.) and patient to provide the best demonstration of the body part under study.
• Lifts and positions all coils as needed.
• Screens patients and personnel for ferrous metal implants or other objects (credit cards, missiles).
• Ensures no patient/visitor/healthcare worker enters scan room with ferromagnetic objects or contraindicated implants.
• Selects appropriate pulse sequences from monitoring console for scan procedures.
• Records all pulse sequences implemented for exam.
• May recommend protocol changes for additional diagnostic information.
• Evaluates results for quality and completeness.
• Manipulates images for display to physician.
• Sends images to PACS and verifies exam in a timely manner.
• Performs daily Quality Assurance tests on equipment.
• Monitors cryogens to ensure magnet integrity.
• Maintains room hygiene and universal precautions.
• Assists moving patients to/from wheelchairs.
• Performs other duties/projects as assigned.
