Job summary

Labcorp seeks a Clinical Lab Technician for its Invitae Genetics lab in San Francisco, CA. Work involves supporting diagnostic testing on patient specimens under supervision, utilizing molecular assays and platforms, and ensuring sample integrity and proper documentation.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in a chemical/biological science, CLS, or medical technology, and preferred experience with molecular biology and lab automation. Training provided; evening shift in SF.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in a chemical or biological science, CLS or Medical Technology.
• Experience with molecular biology techniques, including nucleic acid extraction and NGS preferred.
• Familiarity with SOPs, QA and QC standards; good documentation habits.

Responsibilities

• Support diagnostic testing on patient specimens using molecular assays and platforms.
• Assist licensed CLS personnel performing clinical test protocols.
• Identify issues that affect test quality and escalate for resolution.
• Prepare and label tubes and plates; maintain sample viability and integrity.
• Maintain and organize inventory of specimen samples and reagents.
• Prepare logs for routine testing or special assignments.
• Adhere to quality control guidelines to ensure specimen integrity.
