Qualifications

• High school graduation or equivalent.
• Meets CLIA Subpart M, Section 493.1489 for high complexity testing.
• Bachelor's degree in Science that meets CLIA requirements to perform high complexity testing.

Responsibilities

• Perform and interpret stains, biochemical tests, serologic tests on specimens.
• Perform specialized tests: latex agglutination, fluorescent microscopy, ELISA, multiplex nucleic acid tests, RT PCR.
• Perform quality control procedures and maintain records; document corrective actions.
• Operate and maintain laboratory instrumentation (blood culture system, Vitek 2, etc.).
• Order microbiology/serology tests and enter patient results into systems.
• Assist in training lab personnel, residents and students in microbiology techniques.
