Job summary

Regions Hospital in Saint Paul, MN, seeks a Mental Health Technician to join a collaborative care team providing care for adults with mental illness in a state-of-the-art facility.

You will support patients with ADLs, monitor vital signs, and assist with crisis management, documentation, and milieu therapies on the evening shift. Schedule is FTE 0.90 (36 hours/week) with every other weekend and some holidays.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education in behavioral sciences or one year of related health care studies.
• At least 1 year of supervised experience delivering services to persons with mental illness.
• 1 year of similar related health care experience as applicable.

Responsibilities

• Performs activities of daily living (ADLs) daily.
• Provides patient care treatments including restraint monitoring and collects patient data (vital signs, weights, intake/output).
• Collects routine specimens (urine, stool, finger stick blood glucose) as directed.
• Responds to call lights and assists nurses with procedures.
• Documents and charts care in the electronic health record.
