Job summary

Regency Integrated Health Services in Bastrop, TX is seeking a Certified Medication Aide to administer prescribed medications, monitor residents, and document care accurately. You will work a 2pm-10pm shift in a full-time capacity, collaborating with nurses to ensure patient safety and comfort.

The role requires completion of state-approved medication aide training, good standing in the state registry, and preferably one year of health care experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Successful completion of State Approved Medication Aide Training and Competency Evaluation Program.
• Good standing in the state registry is required.
• Preferred one year of previous health care experience.
• Working knowledge of Universal Precautions and Blood Borne Pathogen rules.

Responsibilities

• Administers prescribed medications and treatments as defined by state regulations and policy.
• Observe and report reactions and side-effects to medications to the charge nurse.
• Take and record vital signs prior to medication administration when applicable.
• Document reasons for medications not administered and report to the charge nurse.
• Prepare medications for administration and document in the resident's MAR.
• Notify licensed nurse in emergencies and document the action.
• Apply ophthalmic, OTIC, nasal, and vaginal medications as ordered.
• Assist with daily care tasks and maintain facility cleanliness of stations and rooms.
