Job summary

UVA Health in Manassas, VA seeks a full-time Medical Unit Receptionist to support the Med/Surg Unit. This evening-shift role runs 3:00 pm–11:00 pm, five days per week, with some weekends and holidays required.

You will perform clerical and receptionist duties under supervision, requiring a high school diploma or GED and 1 year of healthcare experience preferred. Strong written and verbal communication, teamwork, and computer literacy are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1 year of experience in healthcare preferred. Prior secretary experience preferred.
• Demonstrates proficiency in verbal and written communications.
• Ability to work in a stressful environment and as a team player with medical staff, nursing staff, visitors, patients, and other hospital employees.
• Computer literacy and knowledge of operation of general office equipment.

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist visitors to the department.
• Answers all incoming telephone calls and provides accurate information as needed.
• Attends assigned meetings and contributes positively to serve as communication ambassadors for the organization.
