Job summary

HCA Houston Healthcare Pearland is seeking a Medical Technologist to join our laboratory team to perform tests on blood, urine and body fluids to support diagnosis and patient care. The role requires independent judgment with supervision and collaboration with care teams.

You will work with physicians, nurses and others to ensure accurate testing, maintain quality control, and participate in proficiency testing within a 50+ bed hospital serving the south Houston community.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Medical Technology/CLS from an accredited institution.
• Minimum 1 year of clinical laboratory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine, complex or specialized bacteriological, hematological, chemical, immunological and immunoassay tests.
• Communicate with physicians, nurses, business office, and medical records to ensure continuous patient care.
• Demonstrate accuracy for all testing performed.
• Perform quality control and proficiency testing according to policy and procedure.
