Suburban Hospital, a member of Johns Hopkins Medicine in Bethesda, MD, is seeking an on-call Evening shift Clinical Laboratory Scientist/Medical Technologist. The role involves performing routine and complex tests with minimal supervision and may be assigned to different laboratory areas based on experience and certification.

The position requires a minimum of 2 years of clinical laboratory experience and certification, with ASCP or AMT credentials preferred.

Qualifications

• Formal educational background in biology, chemistry, hematology, immunohematology and microbiology normally acquired through a four-year post-secondary school program in clinical laboratory technology.

Responsibilities

• Performs a variety of routine and complex clinical laboratory tests in accordance with established standards and procedures with minimal supervision.
• Has working knowledge of equipment, specimen processing, test results and time constraints in the assigned area.
• Under supervision level, may be assigned to any area or combination of areas and demonstrates knowledge of medical technology related to the job category.
