Job summary

Labcorp in Phoenix, AZ is seeking a Medical Technologist to join our team for a Tuesday–Saturday 2:00pm–10:30pm schedule. You will perform routine and complex testing, verify results and maintain instruments. A Bachelor’s degree in a chemical/biological science or medical technology and 1+ year of clinical lab testing experience are required.

ASCP or AMT certification is preferred. Strong attention to detail, communication and teamwork are essential, as is familiarity with lab information

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a Chemical or Biological Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology.
• 1 year or more of clinical laboratory testing experience.

Responsibilities

• Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria.
• Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to SOPs.
• Monitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality.
• Demonstrate the ability to make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving.
• Prepare, test and evaluate new reagents or controls.
• Report accurate and timely test results to deliver quality patient care.
• Perform and document preventative maintenance and quality control procedures.
• Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary.
• Assist with processing of specimens when needed.
• Maintain a safe work environment and wear appropriate PPE.
