Job summary

Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center is seeking a Laboratory Technologist for an evening, full-time role in Boston. The candidate will perform a variety of automated and manual tests, prepare specimens, and report results to pathologists and clinicians.

Strong QC, instrument maintenance, and data entry into LIS are required. Required: Bachelor's in Medical Laboratory Science or related field; ASCP certification or eligibility within 12 months; proficient in computers and MS Office.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Science / Medical Technology or Biological Science required.
• ASCP certified generalist or categorical Technologist or eligible within 12 months.
• Experience with laboratory instruments and computerized LIS systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs complex chemical, biological, hematological, immunologic, microscopic, and bacteriological tests.
• Prepares specimens for examination and reports results to clinicians and pathologists.
• Maintains QC/ calibration and documents maintenance and troubleshooting.
