Job summary

The General Hospital Corporation in Boston, MA is seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist for the Evening shift (3:00 PM to 11:30 PM). A generous $10,000 sign-on bonus is available for eligible candidates.

Starting pay is $33/hour, with pay based on experience, education, and certifications, plus potential differentials and incentives. Responsibilities include specimen processing, test performance, and reporting of waived and non-waived tests under supervision.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Clinical Laboratory Sciences, Medical Technology or Laboratory Sciences.
• Experience: Lab experience 0–2 years preferred.
• ASCP-BOC certification or eligibility required.

Responsibilities

• Follow procedures for specimen handling, processing and reporting of test results.
• Maintain records proving proficiency testing samples are tested like patient samples.
• Adhere to quality control policies and document all QC activities, instrument calibrations, and maintenance.
• Follow corrective action policies when test systems are out of range.
• Identify problems affecting test performance and notify supervisor or director as needed.
• Document corrective actions when test systems deviate from specifications.
