Job summary

Lake Region Healthcare in Fergus Falls, MN is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technician to perform a broad range of laboratory analyses with accuracy and timely reporting. You will work under supervision, using established criteria and partnering with physicians, co-workers, and patients.

The role requires a credentialed MLT or eligibility, a high school diploma (AS degree preferred), strong communication skills, and willingness to obtain BLS within the first year.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent; AS degree preferred.
• Certification: MLT (ASCP or equivalent) required upon hire or within 6 months.
• Communication: proficient and professional verbal and written.
• BLS certification: willing to obtain within first year.

Responsibilities

• Perform a wide range of defined laboratory analyses with careful independent judgment as directed by supervision.
• Maintain accurate documentation and communicate unusual findings to supervisor.
• Provide professional communication with patients, coworkers and physicians; support physicians orders and ensure quality control.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent

Associate degree in clinical laboratory science

National Certification (MLT ASCP or equivalent) required upon hire or within 6 months

Proficient and professional communication (verbal and written)

Willingness to obtain BLS certification within first year
