Job summary

ChristianaCare is seeking a Full-time Flex Medical Laboratory Scientist/Technician for the Evening Shift (2:30pm - 11:00pm) at the Newark campus in Delaware. Responsibilities include performing tests, maintaining instruments, and ensuring quality control within required turnaround times.

Requires BS in Medical Technology or MLS and ASCP certification preferred. This role offers comprehensive benefits and opportunities within a major health system.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology, Medical Laboratory Science, Biochemistry or equivalent BS degree which requires completion of clinical rotations through an approved education program required.
• Completion of an associate degree in medical laboratory technology; ASCP Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Accurately performs all test procedures as listed in the procedure manual.
• Performs and records all scheduled instrument preventative maintenance procedures.
• Follows established quality control procedures, documenting corrective action if necessary.
• Adheres to all turnaround times, document calls as necessary, verifies critical values and specimen identification.
• Verifies completion of all stat results and all routine results in a timely manner.
• Records workload and other statistics into computer system as necessary.
• Performs assigned work safely adhering to established department safety rules and practices.
