Job summary

The University of Maryland Medical System is a 14-hospital network delivering academic, community and specialty care across Maryland. This laboratory role performs diverse analyses, ensures quality and safety, and participates as a key member of the patient care team.

Qualifications include a Bachelor’s in Medical Technology or related field (or an Associate’s with 3+ years), with ASCP preferred. Shift: Mon-Fri 3:00pm-11:30pm; confidential info per EEO guidelines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology, biology or related sciences required or 3 years of clinical lab experience with an Associate’s degree.
• ASCP or equivalent certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Independently performs waived, moderate and high complexity testing using manual and automated processes.
• Complies with CLIA, TJC, CAP, FDA and other regulatory guidelines.
• Identifies and resolves analytical problems and equipment issues; documents corrective actions.
• Reviews quality control and determines acceptability of testing and results.
• Responds to clinical and customer concerns with confidentiality and integrity.
• Assists with development and modification of procedures and assumes additional responsibilities.
• Attends mandatory education, training, and in-service meetings.
